上款：「雲陔」即林雲陔（1883-1948），廣東高州人。早年加入同盟會，投身革命，後負笈美國。返國後從政，二十年代起主政粵省，歷任廣州市長、廣東省政府主席兼財政廳長，對穗城建設貢獻尤鉅，後轉職監察院，出任審計部長。

註：抗戰勝利，黃君璧隨中央大學還都復課，本幅寫於居金陵期間。時值內戰烽火正熾，局面呈急轉直下之勢，同年冬，他即渡海赴台，故取珠江水面，舟楫相連，白雲山下，房舍毗鄰，入畫處正是一片羊城景色，以此贈同籍好友，懷鄉戀舊之情，隨畫境而生。
