註：一九二八年，陳之佛赴穗擔任廣州市立美術專科學校教職，黃君璧即為該校教務主任，二人訂交應於此時。抗戰軍興，兩人亦入蜀，任教於中央大學，再結仝事之誼，並活躍於當地文化藝術界，往來頗為密切。

抗戰勝利，中央大學遷返南京，陳之佛出掌藝術系。本幅寫於一九四八年春，即黃君璧客居滬上時所出，畫中即其擅長之蒼山雲瀑，筆墨扎實，意境空靈，或撿此贈雪翁誌念。同年冬，他即赴台舉行展覽。
