-Signs of restoration can be found, where there appears to be paper cracks and paper losses previously, and these have been improved by restoration. Discolouration of paper and a crease at the lower right on the second scroll can be found, and certain parts have turned yellowish. These can be improved by restoration. Otherwise, generally in fair condition.

註：一九一五年六月，李叔同與友結「樂石社」，又撰「樂石社社友小傳」，自稱「燕人或曰當湖人‥‥‥生平易名字百十數。名之著者曰‥‥‥哀，字之著者曰叔同‥‥‥曰惜霜‥‥‥曰息霜，又自諡曰哀公。」

本聯寫於同年，鈐印七方，印文幾可見於小傳所錄。聯言內容又與詩文酬唱之會貼切，或許與上述社集有關。其字結體方長，筆墨平穩厚重，乃出家前書法之典型；鈐印大小、位置佈列講究。墨烏亮，朱殷紅，交相輝映，色澤歴百年仍亮麗鮮活，儒雅莊重，洵屬佳品。

又鈐「玉咸真賞」藏印，或為羅淦。羅氏，江西南昌人，嗜金石，好藏善本、銅鏡，亦善墨拓，用印多出自篆刻名家陳巨來、韓登安、高絡園等。
