This picture is painted on two pieces of oak panel brought together by a single horizontal join. The panel itself is in healthy condition with beveling on all four sides and no cradling. The panel is flat. The sky has numerous areas of discolored retouches and varnish which have become visible to the naked eye as the white brushstrokes. There are also retouches in parts of the figures in the foreground and a small amount along the horizontal join. These retouches could be replaced and the painting would be much more appealing to the naked eye. In a carved wooden frame.
