Condition
Movement running at the time of cataloging however it has not been tested for accuracy and may need service at the buyer's discretion and expense. Case is in overall very good condition with a crisp case and bright intact enamel. The dial has some slight scratches. Movement in very good condition.

The maker of the movement, Lallemand, is recorded not only as a student to Breguet but also as a watchmaker in Breguet's workshop. It is thought that Breguet purchased completed movements from fellow watchmakers and it is possible that Breguet retailed the present lot. The watch features a Robin-type escapement, named after its inventor, Robert Robin (1742-1809). As described in Watches by Clutton & Daniels, the escapement uses a lever "for locking only and impulse is given direct by the escape wheel to the balance. Impulse can therefore only be given on alternate swings of the balance."
