上款：「勝華居士」即劉綿松。劉氏乃福建漳州文化界人士。弘一法師於一九三八年初夏，弘法漳州，劉綿松及其母即受啟導而皈依。法師為其立名曰「勝華」，其母名曰「惠瀞」。

註：劉綿松與弘一法師結緣後，一直保持來往，如為法師講經經義編印付梓，即使法師圓寂後，亦捐資輯印特刋紀念。法師有多件書法贈劉氏母子，如華嚴經偈、佛號、精舍室名以至通屏等，皆用心所出，本幅即其一，似寫於一九四一年。
