德三三兄鑒趣。弟高崙寫得「春江水暖鴨先知」之句。時丁未秋初，倚裝剪鐙作於香海。
題識：
此為劍父早年所作，德三先生以之轉貽光廷先生者，因補識焉。番禺葉恭綽。
鈐印：
〈高〉 「高崙印」、「劍甫」。
〈葉〉 「葉恭綽」。

註：劍父入民國前之作，傳世極稀。本幅寫於光緒末年，以東坡句入圖，畫中狀野鴨驚起於葦塘之貌，其躍動之勢與葦草迎風搖盪相應，惟筆墨卻不囿於二居所傳心法，極盡寫生之能事，筆下已見己貌。題款字體窄長挺瘦，行筆尖銳，復鈐「劍甫」朱文方印，皆見於早年作品。題曰「倚裝剪鐙作於香海」，是年携弟奇峰赴東瀛學藝，或即指此行前後。
又具葉恭綽題識，謂原藏者轉贈「光廷先生」。「光廷」應為港澳兩地之殷商，劍父避兵濠江時，常有過從，屢有作品寫贈，俱精心所出，故本幅似屬四十年代同歸好劍父畫藝者。
