毛浩甄（1880-1962）舊藏。毛氏，名興鵬，浙江蕭山人，民國初年銀行界知名人士，歷任浙江銀行杭州總行要職，亦為中央信託公司發起人之一。嗜收藏，藏品包括明清書畫，除本幅書法外，尚有趙之謙〈歲朝清供〉，同屬〈悲盦賸墨〉之物。
題簽者「田叔達」（1908－1981），字夔曾，浙江紹興人，擅篆刻，一九六二年獲聘任上海文史館館員。

上款：「葵園」有謂乃晚清著名學者王先謙（1842-1917），蓋其築室「葵園」於長沙，故號「葵園先生」。惟趙之謙與王氏年齡相距十餘載，且仕途各異，往來過從似未見諸書函詩文或畫跡題款等文字資料上，如本幅直呼其號，非關係親暱無此稱謂。且築「葵園」乃王先謙辭官歸里後之事，時維光緒十五年（1889），悲盫墓木已拱矣！由此推之，或非一人，身份孰誰，待考。
