上款：「光晉」即唐世隆（1901-1954後），原名唐煜隆，四川威遠人。早歲從戎，三十年代執教於國民革命軍軍事政治學校，後轉入川軍。抗戰期間，出任陸軍參謀處少將處長，並擔任中央大學教官。勝利後，應朱紹良之邀，任復員委員會軍事組中將副組長，負責國民政府軍事機關遣返南京事宜，並先後任重慶綏靖公署軍事組中將組長及國防部組長。四九年後，留居大陸，五二年被捕，後病逝獄中。

唐氏雖從戎，惟好詩詞，嗜收藏，於書畫、金石、篆刻、碑帖、古泉皆有研究，室號「龍驎書屋」，漢魏碑版庋藏尤精。他與文化藝術界過從密切，與徐悲鴻、沈尹默、謝無量、呂鳯子等相交尤深，切磋論藝，書信往還不斷，不少藏品具諸家題跋，獲寫贈精品甚多。一九四六年四月，他在重慶舉辦收藏展，即由徐悲鴻撰序。

註：本幅所書五古〈勸履川學書〉，「履川」乃曾克耑（1900-1975），福建閩侯人，承家學，擅詩詞書法，與沈尹默相交甚深，常互訪談文論藝。詩中內容涉書法之道，又謂曾氏「平時不作書，落筆如流電」，故力勸勿「輕棄筆硯」。他以此詩書贈唐氏，或亦具勉勵之意，以五尺窄長條幅寫之，流暢自然，瀟灑俐落，亟見經意為之。
