Developed from the early calibres of 24’’’ ( 1939 ) Modified to 260 (1957) and 262 (1966), the reference 7411-2 was widely recognised as Longines' most accurate chronograph. Used by the Swiss Observatory at Neuchatel, they were also utilised to time the most important of events from Donald Campbell's 'Bluebird' water and land speed record attempts to the Olympic Games. Indeed, Longines was the official time keeping partner, for both the summer and winter, Olympic games from the 1952 - 1980, plus many other events in the sporting calendar.
