There are minute fritts to the raised parts of the carved design on the cover. The rim of box and cover may have been repainted. There are scattered hairline cracks to the rim. There are small areas of restoration on the box and cover, particularly to the rims, and a ca. 1 x 3 cm area on the side of the box.
