蓮蓬水盂，形自然，意樸趣，鈐陳鳴遠印。陳鳴遠，康雍時期江蘇宜興陶人，藝高冠群，聲名遠播。據文獻，陳鳴遠師承其父，十七世紀製陶大家陳子畦，技高心巧，所造之器精妙擬真，薄胎細緻，器身識銘別有隋唐古風。
上海博物館藏一件近類陳鳴遠款盃，展出於《紫泥清韻：陳♓鳴遠陶藝研究》，香港中文大學文物館，香港，1997年，圖版25，同展一件蓮瓣式器，編號28，還有一件蓮藕式器，編號24。
