上款：「釋戡」即李宣倜（1888-1961），福建侯官人。早年畢業於日本陸軍士官學校，民國時期曾任文威將軍、晉陸軍中將，又廣交京滬名士，與梅蘭芳尤近。

註：一九二二年四月，李釋戡、梅蘭芳、齊如山等遊香山，於香爐峰偏僻險要處發現平坦巨石，梅蘭芳遂書「梅」字，李釋戡題記，齊如山監製勒於石上，至今「梅石」猶存。本幅寫於同年，乃金城應李氏之請，為紀此遊而作，題詩「斷崖如削紫苔封」即形容「梅石」之狀。
