註：本幅經汪振華、江兆申先後遞藏。汪振華，江蘇人，一九二六年赴延安加入工農紅軍。四九年後參與上海民航管理工作，六十年代中期任民航上海管理局政委。嗜好藝術，與同輩書畫家多有往還，如唐雲、程十髮、陸儼少等作品，所集頗豐。又好二十世初期前輩所出，積累甚夥。
江兆申（1925-1996），字茮原，齋名靈漚館。安徽歙縣人。生於書香世家，後隨國民政府遷台，次年，拜入溥儒門下，隨侍十餘年間，遍讀經史及各家文集。經陳雪屏、葉公超推薦，加入國立台北故宮博物院，從副研究員到執掌書畫部，至一九九一年自副院長任上榮休。他專注於古代書畫及美術史研究，學術著作甚豐，筆下書畫作品亦廣得好評。
江氏在邊裬題曰「樸翁暮年悉力之作」，正是一九四六年前後，畫家力追北宋古法的典型面貌之作。畫中錄元周砥〈出西澗過龍巖途中瞻眺〉詩句，構圖不依近、中、遠景佈置之常規，袛見江流於右，蜿蜒幾曲，高岑岧嶢，巃嵷嵬峨，雜樹蔥蘢間，屋宇茅舍，錯落參差，依山勢修築。山重水複間，似有小徑可循，遊者沿徑踱步，過石橋，通往碧山深處，讀之，如身臨畫境，一路游來，移步換景，得賞「臥游」之趣 。
