陸平叔蓋石田弟子，曾見其大寫麓筆，不脫石田蹊逕，至其本家法，則上法荊關，而以大癡淺絳設染，以高士簡筆加密，骨清韵逸，世遂稱包山派，非變法無以自立，書畫皆然。乙丑七月下澣得雨，大解炎熇。辳髯熙。

筆下煙雲自往還，石田家法出荊關；
銷魂最是斜陽候，一片清流繞赭山。
丙寅立秋前一日。曉汀居士題於海上芝蘭室。
鈐印：

註：曾熙鮮寫畫，偶有涉筆，多花卉，山水極稀，本幅取法陸包山，仍辳髯寫山水偏簡約一路，淺赭為主，間點石綠，色皆淡雅，飄渺自生，與其書法之肅穆渾厚，大異其趣。
畫上具黃起鳳（1889-1941）題跋。黃氏，江西上饒人，幼從父習畫。一九二五年夏由杭遷滬，鬻畫為生，與曾熙為鄰，相與訂交，曾氏稱其為「朝夕評定古今書畫極樂，蓋老年賞心之友也」。
