註：白石筆下松鷹最得蒼茫強悍勢，具英雄獨立之姿。畫中見雄鷹踞於蒼松主幹，昂首遠瞻，其目炯然生光。老松枝幹粗壯，拔地而起，堅穩若磐石之姿，巍然直挺，鷹立其上，強頑精旺的生命力溢於紙上。畫家寫來，以赭墨狀猛禽大概，淡墨蘸水，染其翅膀，水份飽滿，亟見羽毛蓬鬆狀，尾翎背羽則以濃墨乾筆出之，得勁健之勢，復以花青點畫喙爪，筆墨雄健，淋漓暢達。

他在二十至四十年代期間，屢作〈松鷹圖〉或〈鷹石圖〉，本幅成於一九二九年，兼題具體創作日期，謂「天日清和」，可知寫來心情舒暢，故筆下起勁，更見神采。
