吳湖帆題識
題識：
芬陀仙伴。
崑山正儀鎮之東亭子為元末顧阿瑛玉山佳處，池中荷花，重臺駢萼，心與蕉捲，與華山劉宋造象中所刊千葉蓮同，或即天竺異種也。余嘗對花寫照，此徐甥玥臨本。癸未春三月。吳湖帆題。

註：徐玥，字班索，父徐偉士乃吳湖帆姐夫，兼草橋學舍同窗。徐玥幼嗜書畫，於「梅景書屋」隨侍舅父吳湖帆多年，得其親授，作沒骨荷花最得吳妝神韻，專有「徐玥畫蓮」印。本幅乃徐玥臨繪，吳湖帆題名，「芬陀」即荷花，並蒂故稱「仙伴」；並作長跋詳釋，此花乃是昆山正儀鎮蓮花名種「並蒂蓮」，該縣縣誌記載，元末名人顧阿瑛在東亭有園林「玉山佳處」，池中所植並蒂蓮產於天竺，稀世罕見。自三十年代中期，吳湖帆數次對花寫照，或出諸好友葉恭綽影響，蓋葉氏曾專程來此訪花，考證淵源，填詞紀念。
