The rim has been slightly polished to conceal a few occasional flakes. There are also some original firing imperfections, including a circular firing crack above the foot and visible on the interior, as well as minor surface scratches.

隆慶一朝，歷時六載，窰燒工藝精湛。承嘉靖遺風，紋飾畫意瀟灑自如，疏密有致。回青料運用爐火純青，發色穩定。隆慶官窰瓷器，帶年款者如鳳毛麟角，多書「造」字款，「製」字極少。本品盤心及外壁繪嬰戲圖，生動逼真，器底書「大明隆慶年造」款。同類器傳世品中惟見一例，甚為珍罕。

惟一例屬 H.R.N. Norton 舊藏，紋飾尺寸，與本器如出一轍。曾於1963及1974年售於倫敦蘇富比及先後兩次售於香港佳士得，1989年及1994年5月30日，編號640。錄於Adrian Joseph，《Ming Porcelains: Their Origins and Develop🌠ment》，倫敦，1971年，圖版50。
