The rim has been polished to conceal frits and chips. There is an approx. 0.8 cm flake chip to the inner foot rim. Some expected wear to the surface and minor firing imperfections, consistent with age and type.

Ming revival porcelains were popular in the first half of the Kangxi period. The present dish closely resembles its Jiajing imperial prototype.  A Jiajing mark and period example from the Pilkington Collection was sold recently in our Hong Kong rooms 6th April 2016, lot 34.
