Condition
Case in overall fair vintage condition with wear, some material loss, and oxidation throughout. Diamonds have not been tested for quality.
Crown with one brilliant cut diamond missing. One case body segment with black enamel loss, revealing the yellow gold underneath. Oxidation to the gold areas, especially at the pin. Dial with heavy oxidation, some loss to the painted indexes and light oxidation to the hands. Enamel accent to pendant chain with some material wear and loss of luster at the top.
High quality unsigned movement potentially replaced over 60 years ago. The movement bears hand stamped Cartier serial numbers 3848 on both sides, and the inside case back and bezel bear hand stamped Cartier numbers 63.
Accompanied by a purchase receipt dated May 10th, 1963; it was at that point purchased as an 'antique' by the grandmother of the present owner.
The total length 65 mm. Length of body of watch 34 mm. Diameter of case from top 19 mm.
