RGM Watch Company was born from traditional Swiss training and American ingenuity. Inspired by the late 19th century and early 20th century American watchmaking, Roland G. Murphy, a WOSTEP-trained watchmaker and watch manufacturer, endeavored to create all-American watches in the horologically historic Lancaster County, Pennsylvania (having been home to Hamilton Watch Company from 1892 to 1969). Eight years of research and development, and the power of new technologies like CNC (computer numerical control) machines, led to the creation of beautifully crafted American movements, complications, and hand-finishing inspired by American watchmaking traditions. All of the Pennsylvania-made, RGM movements are stamped “USA,” denoting the country of origin.
