The movement is running at time of cataloguing, however it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Black color loss to the bezel in some areas. Scuffs and surface markings throughout the case bands and lugs. Heuer signature to the crown. Some areas of indentation to the lower lugs. Case overall may benefit from cleaning. Crystal with scratches and scuffs. Dial in overall good condition with markings and some light debris. Some slight oxidation to the subsidiary dials. Chronograph and tide indication functions working properly. Movement in very good condition. Once the watch is set for a specific location by a pusher at 9 o'clock, the Solunagraph displays the tide indications on a sub-register that rotates once per day in concert with the moon's orbit to indicate high and low tides, and thus the most favorable time to go fishing.  The white lines in the blue segments indicate times for high tides, while the white lines in the sand colored segments give the time for low tide. ***Please be advised that the bands on this watch are made of materials derived from endangered or otherwise protected species (i.e. alligator and crocodile) and thus not sold with the watch, they are for display purposes only. Heuer began to produce its tide indication chronographs in the 1950s for a retܫailer of outdoor and camping equipment.  Originally marketed as the "Seafarer," Solunagraphs specifically appealed to adventurers and outdoors men due to the register displaying tide indications on the dial.  This complication is based on John Alden Knight's "solunar theory," which suggests that fisherman, huntsmen and sailors could determine the best dates and times to hunt and fish based on tide patternꦍs.

The outdoor retailer Orvis commissioned Heuer to produce their own model of the Seafarer.  While the model previously had been marketed under other names, Heuer specifically marke📖ted models retailed by Orvis as t🐽he Solunagraph.  The Solunagraphs are double signed on the dial by both Orvis and Heuer.
