The movement is running at time of cataloging, however it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Please note that Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement. Case in overall good vintage condition with wear, scuffing, markings, and signs of sympathetic polishing consistent with age and use. Case bands with heavier wear and surface markings with very small nicks. Lugs with some light signs of polish and small nicks under close inspection. Bezel with wear and small dents. Some signs of oxidation. Bezel insert with wear, and overall even fading to a soft grey tone. Bezel bead is not present. Some loss to the bezel between 25 and 30. Case back with normal wear and two scratch marks to the coin edge likely from opening and closing. Dial in excellent vintage condition with oxidation to the luminescent markers. Gilt print is bright and vivid. Original Mercedes hands with oxidation. Black dial with one diagonal scratch between the retailer name and depth rating. Some surface markings and light debris. Movement in very good condition with some light oxidation near the perimeter. Bracelet with equivalent wear and is expandable. MVT 57369, case back and between lugs marked 5508.

The present lot is with an impeccably well preserved dial with vivid gilt printing contrasted by the depth rating in white. This attractive combination is further accentuated by the beautifully aged original bezel.
