李元佳出生於1929年中國廣西，可說是中國最早的觀念藝術家，早在六○年代初，尚未出國前，即以運用近乎老莊靜觀思想的意識在畫面上， 加上中國繪畫疏遠平淡的構成效果，融入禪思與詩意的藝術語言 。
1963年李元佳先至義大利，經由蕭勤參加米蘭的「點」現代藝術運動， 強調「嚴肅的結構性、思索性，以及單純靜觀的表現」。在一九六六年李元佳決定定居英國求發展，之後長年定居英國，身後的作品也多留於國外，創作範圍包括水墨、油彩、單色繪畫、甚至觀念藝術、攝影、複合媒材，並以行動擴延藝術的定義。李元佳兩件精品創作，《無題》（拍品編號5059）應用書法線條，甲骨文造型在宣紙上繪製抽象圖像。《無題》（拍品編號5060）畫面中的「點」亦是李元佳創作歷程中的核心觀念，將宇宙的一小點，轉化為萬物的象徵，以東方色彩為主調，如白色象徵著純粹、黑色代表著起始與終點、紅色如生命和血液、金色象徵高貴，大面積的留白組成空虛的空間，畫面展現東方抽象式的神秘，創造藝術家個人的觀念記號 。
