《湖濱秋色》氤氳迷離，攝影家莊靈認為，此作至少用了四張不同底片集錦而成，包括右方樹椏、前方湖水、湖上小舟與後方的業叢林遠山。郎靜山喜歡在陰天拍攝，因為陰天的自然光線方向不明確，拍下來的底片更易在集錦照片中取得和諧的效果，而雲煙霧靄則是協調底片的最好方法，亦常當視為書畫「留白」哲學的一種延伸，與及應用在現代攝影的一種方式。
