The following condition report has been provided by Simon Parkes, Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc. 502 East 74th St. New York, NY 212-734-3920, simonparkes@msn.com, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's. This work has been lined with a non-wax adhesive. The paint layer is clean. The cracking is slightly raised, but the paint layer is stable. In the center of the water by the dark sailboat, there is some thinness which has received retouches. The remainder of the picture seems to be very well preserved and unretouched. The work should be hung as is.
