fritware painted in underglaze cobalt blue, green and bole red with black outlines and details, featuring a spray of tulips, carnations and hyacinths with small florettes, border with stylised waves and scrolls, tulip bunches and rosettes to exterior, the underside with one drill to the rim and one drill to the foot

Condition
Intact, good condition, very minor chips to exterior rim, one of drill holes to rim broken, very minor hairline crack on glaze of rim, as viewed.

Dr. Anton Philips was an eclectic art collector, initiating his acquisition of art in his early twenties. By his sixties, he had assembled one of the most extraordinary private collections of nineteenth and twentieth century art, old masters, furniture and pottery in the Netherlands. He became a prominent figure in the art world, mingling with distinguished specialists and loaning pieces from his collection to exhibitions in Europe.
