Reasonable condition with typical loses to painted decoration consistent with age and use. Surface of one chair in worse condition than others. Seat rails of three not inspected. Decorative. Upholstery: two covered with composite sections of embroidered and applique mirrored textile, one early, the other later 20th century, Kutch, India (one of faded colours overall, some losses in the corners), another chair covered with panel of French 19th century needlework with geometric design (some oxidisation and losses, and reworking for example top right corner, and minor discolouration), and one with a padded and applique Kalaga panel, Burma, 19th century, depicting an elephant within a roundel (some losses and oxidisation to metal, some of applied sequins and glass missing, to edges especially, see the left side). Comment: usable upholstery. The padded elephant cover - more decorative than usable; due to being padded and having applied elements.
