- 32cm. 12½in. high
3¼-inch enamel dial signed Meyer à Paris, the bell striking movement with star-cut outside count wheel and silk suspension, signed on the backplate as the dial, the case flanked by figures of a female and cupid with a bird, the moulded base with boldly cast paw feet linked by drapery
Condition
Enamel dial has a hair crack at X and edge chips between X and XI, I & II, III and V, VII & VIII and at XI, hands replaced, glass lacking from bezel. Movement appears to be complete but much in need of a clean and service, pendulum lacking. he case in good condition through and retaining much of the original gilding. With a winder but no pendulum.

An almost identical clock is illustrated Pierre Kjellberg, LaPendule Francaise, 1997, p.246. Another clock with the movement by Lepaute and reputedly made for the bed chamber of the Comte D'Artois, was sold Sotheby's Paris, 29th March 2007, Lot 60 for €31,200.
