Two rich manuscript accounts of hunting in India, wonderfully illustratedThe albums present here capture Horatio Ross's four years spent in India as a civil servant. He was based at Chunar Fort, located on the Ganges, and in the Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh. Ross records a some official duties, but also illustrates scenes of domestic life, and many more of his hunting adventures, tallying "68 days out shooting, 70 head bagged."
