of finely potted baluster form rising to a short waisted neck with an everted lip, the body well painted in classic contrasting tones of dark cobalt-blue with a scrolling meander of leafy stems, millet, lotus blooms and buds, between double line borders, the foot encircled with a band of seven lotus sprays, the shoulder with a scrolling leafy meander, all within double line borders
Condition
The vase has several long cracks around necks extender from the shoulder to the lower body,all restored with associated over painting and over-spraying, and it is still visible to the interior. There are also some touch up on the mouth rim.

明永樂之青花，自古以來深受推崇，影響明清二朝瓷作深遠。本梅瓶纏枝蓮紋和諧相宜，襯托優雅器形，實屬明初御瓷風格典范。 比較一例清宮舊藏，現存於北京，載於《故宮博物院藏文物珍品全集．青花釉裏紅（上）》，香港，2008，圖版32；台北國立故宮博物院收藏另一帶蓋例，曾展於《適於心—明代永樂皇帝的瓷器》，國立故宮博物院，台北，2017年，編號52；上海博物館亦收藏一例，曾展於《青花磁器展》，松屋銀座，東京，1988年，編號10；第四例出自華盛頓D.C.，Freer Gallery of Art，圖載於《Oriental Ceramics, The World's Great Collections》，卷9，東京，1981年，圖版92。其外尚可比較數例，其一售於倫敦蘇富比1974年4月1日，編號192，後兩度易手於香港蘇富比1977年11月29日，編號23及1986年11月18日，編號42，出自趙從衍雅藏；其二售於香港蘇富比2006年4月10日，編號1658。
