This vase is in overall good condition with slight rubbing of gilding and nicks to the extremities, consistent with age.

本瓶器形端正，風格厚重, 鏨滿錦紋, 繁縟華麗，實乃胡文明（約1560-1620年）作坊精工製作之典例。胡文明，雲間人，今屬上海，製作各式文房珍玩，本品即為佳例，尺寸碩大，錯銀鏨花，卓越於同儕。比較一例，尺寸較小，帶《胡文明作》款，先後屬葉義醫生及水松石山房珍藏，曾展於，《文玩萃珍》，香港大學馮平山博物館，香港，1986年，編號230，兩度售於香港蘇富比，先後為1984年11月19日，編號25及2014年4月8日，編號211。另比一例，蓮紋與本品相近，器為膽形，瓶足呈錐型，售於香港蘇富比1989年11月15日，編號565。
