Overall very good condition. The shade is executed with a highly artistic glass selection. When viewed in person, the blue and green rippled glass comprising the background passage is slightly more variegated and nuanced, and the orange hue of the dragonfly wings is slightly more saturated compared to the printed catalogue illustration. The shade with approximately 15 hairline cracks dispersed throughout, all stable. The shade with surface soiling throughout concentrated to the contours adjacent to the leadlines and within the recessed portions of the rippled glass. The filigree overlay on the dragonfly wings appears to be all intact with slightly more concentrated surface soiling to the glass behind the filigree. The base presents with a rich russet brown patina with scattered minor surface scratches, abrasions, and minor discolorations consistent with age and gentle use. The base cushion with some slightly more concentrated discolorations around the edge of the ribbed decoration, not visually detractive. The base with some light surface soiling to the recessed contours of the design. The socket cluster ball with two small areas of abrasion each next to the join of a socket arm and each measuring approximately 1/8 x 1/8 inch, only visible when the shade is disassembled. All sockets and paddle switches appear original and undisturbed. With a period finial with threaded pin in very good condition with a minute casting flaw to the edge of the knop, not visually detractive. An exceptional example displaying a highly saturated and vibrant glass selection and aquatic sensibility.
