Overall very good condition. The shade is executed with densely mottled glass, which provides a nice naturalistic contrast to the geometric motif and is highly complementary to the Grueby base. The shade presents with approximately 3 hairline cracks, stable. The shade with concentrated surface soiling throughout, which would benefit from cleaning. The Grueby base presents with a beautiful bright green glaze with scattered minor surface irregularities inherent in the glaze. The glazed earthenware base has been examined under a blacklight and appears to have not undergone any visible restoration. With two very minor chips to the raised contour of one leaf edge measuring 1/8 inch and 1/4 inch high, not visually detractive. The electrical conversion executed by Gorham Company presents with scattered minor surface scratches, abrasions, and minor wear to the patina throughout the bronze surfaces. All sockets appear to be period. With a period finial possibly executed by Gorham with some toolmarks around the outer edge of the knop. A very harmonious shade and base pairing with cheerful green coloration.
