Condition
Overall very good original condition. The bronze surfaces with scattered minor surface scratches and abrasions consistent with age and gentle handling. The lid with a small surface irregularity on one side and a few extremely minor spots of discoloration. With light surface soiling and traces of oxidation to the recessed areas of the design. The lower edge of the lid with one small area of wear to the patina due to continued contact with one of the scarab heads, only visible when the inkstand is open. With an period interior glass liner with a few minor fleabites on the interior and exterior edges of the rim. The interior of the liner with a few minor drops of ink and a small brown discoloration on the interior rim at the bottom of the liner. A highly sculptural and naturalistic design by Tiffany Studios.
