Condition

Overall very good condition. The wood appears to retain its original finish and presents with scattered minor surface scratches, abrasions, discolorations, and areas of wear consistent with age and gentle use. The wood with occasional age cracks inherent in the natural aging of the material. The proper right and left back corners of the cornice each with a small chip, not visually detractive. The proper right front corner of the cornice with a small shallow horizontal chip measuring approximately 1 inch wide. The upper edge of the cornice with a small chip located approximately 10 inches from the proper right edge measuring approximately 1/2 inch wide. The lower edge of the cornice with a small and minor splinter measuring approximately 3/4 inch wide, stable, with a very minor associated loss. The proper left side of the wardrobe with a vertical scratch beginning approximately 12 inches from the ground and extending upwards approximately 9 inches, which appears to have been sensitively darkened. The door frame with wear next to the door pull. The proper right lower corner of the door frame with a small chip measuring approximately 1/4 x 1/4 inch. The same corner with a small area where the wood has been replaced measuring approximately 1/2 x 4 inches, only visible upon close inspection. The lower edge of the door frame with a small area of wear measuring approximately 2 inches wide with an associated minor loss. The lower edge of the door frame with a small dent at the approximate midpoint measuring approximately 1 inch wide which appears to have been sensitively darkened. The feet with some slightly more concentrated wear and abrasions. The interior edge of the proper left front foot with two chips; one measuring approximately 1 1/2 x 1 inch, the other approximately 1/2 x 1 inch. The door pull and drawer pulls in very good condition with some minor surface scratches and rubbing. The interior surface of the door with some wear due to contact with the drawers. The mirrored glass with some scattered extremely minor discolorations. The interior with six small drawers and five larger drawers. The drawers are in very good condition; one drawer with a horizontal age crack measuring approximately 4 inches long, stable. An impressive and highly architectural work by Gustav Stickley.
