Christian Witt-Dorring and Janis Staggs, Wiener Werkstätte: 1903-1932 The Luxury of Beauty, exh. cat., Neue Galerie, New York, 2017, p. 112 (for a period photograph showing the design in the 1906 Wiener Werkstätte exhibition The Laid Table)
Condition
Overall in very good condition. When viewed in person, the vase displays a softer, more subtle tone compared to the printed catalogue illustration, and presents with minor surface scratches, not visually distracting and consistent with age and gentle use. The interior and underside with some oxidation, and the recesses of the design with some very minor traces of cleaning residue. The glass liner with minor scattered surface scratches, scuffs, and particulate inclusions inherent to the material and design. An iconic design of the Wiener Werkstatte that displays with impressive sculptural presence.
