Overall in very good condition. The table presents with lighter and more variegated tones of brown and tan than is visible in the catalogue illustration, and with a marvelous free edge of mottled knots and burls inherent to the wood, which was hand-selected by the artist for his vision with this piece. The surfaces throughout with light minor scratches, instances of rubbing, minor spotting and residue, and some minor scattered nicks and wear, the latter mainly concentrated to the edges, all not visually distracting and consistent with age and gentle use. The center of the tabletop with a small black ink mark measuring approximately ½ x 1 ¾ in. The legs and stretchers with scattered with scattered indentations and minor discoloration and wear, mostly concentrated to the feet. The center of the underside towards one of the cross-legs with a minor dent measuring approximately 3/8 x 5/8 in. A stunning and rare piece by Nakashima with a captivating free edge highlighted by varying tones in the wood.
