Condition
Illustration is slightly too orange. Very attractive and impressive model, powerful, dynamic movement of the branches, unusual nozzles and drip pans, the three are of a different shape. Delicate chasing, quite naturalistic. Attractive ormolu gilding with expected wears particularly to the flat surface ; usual marks and stains. To recommend.

The elaborate design of this pair of wall-lights, with coiling stem and branches, makes it a significant illustration of the Rocaille era creations. The nozzles and the drip-pans, the foliate and the scrolls, all different, demonstrate the vitality of Louis XV's style. The exceptional quality of the chasing enhanced by the mercury gilding, turn this pair of wall-lights into a beautiful example of the luminaire productions in mid-18th century, close to the production of Jean-Joseph de Saint-Germain (see J.-D. Augarde article).
