CASE Case in overall very good condition with light wear and aging consistent with use and age. Left side case band with some wear and a very small nick at the case edge closest to the case back. Upper right lug band with a similar very small nick. Lower right lug band with a singular dot marking. Bezel insert is beautifully and evenly aged. A superficial scratch adjacent to 30. Some oxidation to the bead. Bracelet with light equivalent wear. Clasp with heavier scuffing, scratches, and wear, as typical with age and use. DIAL Dial is evenly and attractively aged. Lumes with deepened color. Hands are original, with some light debris, which may benefit from cleaning. MOVEMENT Date function operating properly. The movement is running at time of cataloging, however it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. The Ref. 1680 launched in 1966 as the first Submariner model to feature a date aperture. Early models of the Ref. 1680 featured the now highly collectible 'Submariner' in red lettering. Dials were later standardized, rendering these early configurations very desirable.

The present example is very well preserved with a beautifully aged grꦿay bezel insert, and uniform dial.
