CASE Case in fair condition with wear, light scuffing, and scratches consistent with use and age. Some scuffing throughout. Bezel without the bead. Bezel very attractively aged to a grey tone. Bottom chronograph pusher with some nicks. Bracelet with light scratches throughout. DIAL Dial with aging and oxidation to the luminescent areas. Some small darker surface markings. Some debris. MOVEMENT The movement is running at time of cataloging, however it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Movado introduced the Super Sub Sea in a competitive landscape against diving watches from Rolex, Blancpain and Omega which had long been associated with sport models and purpose built tool watches. The present lot combines the waterproof capabilities of a diving watch with a chronograph to create a watch for a true sportsman. The watch contains the caliber 146HP which was one of the final manual wind chronograph movements being used by Movado and Zenith even after their introduction of the automatic El Primero in 1969. The present lot survives in original condition with expected wear for a watch of this age, and one that has seen use as intended.
