Condition
The canvas is not lined; two separate canvases have been joined together with adhesive in the middle of the composition, which is visible on the reverse. Inspection under UV light reveals some areas of retouching to the sky, primarily to the upper right quadrant, the largest of which is approx. 3cm in diameter. There is some craquelure visible in places and some scattered flecks of pigment loss, in particular to the sky in the upper right quadrant. The canvas is gently undulating in places. This work is in fairly good condition.
