The canvas is lined. There are a number of fine cracks in the paint surface, principally in the upper right quadrant and in the teacup. There is a small fleck of paint loss to the right of the jug. There is some evidence of studio matter within the paint. There is some light surface dirt. Subject to the above the work appears to be good overall condition. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals some areas of fluorescence to the work including to the upper left quadrant, to the lilies, to the vase and to the saucer, which may be in line with retouchings and some further traces visible elsewhere. These have been very sensitively executed. The work is held in a painted and gilt wooden frame.
