Condition
The work is made up of one sheet of tissue paper, painted with gouache, with two further torn pieces of paper, also painted with gouache, attached to the upper and lower edges of the main sheet. All three elements are adhered to a larger sheet of paper, which is in turn adhered to the backing board with a tab in each corner. The layers are adhered with a combination of adhesive tape and blu-tack but the nature of the layers make it difficult to identify the precise positioning of these tabs and tacks. There is one tab to the upper right corner that has come slightly loose. There are creases throughout the tissue paper consistent with the material. There is some minor staining at points, where adhesive tabs are used, and some very minor instances of further discolouration. The underlying piece of paper has instances of minor creasing and undulation. There are one or two very minor instances of studio matter. Subject to the above, the work appears to be in very good overall condition. The work is float mounted and held behind perspex in a simple wooden frame.
