The panel is cradled, flat and stable. The paint surface is relatively clean and the varnish is slightly discoloured. There is some thinning in the paint surface, meaning the wood grain is slightly more apparent. In raking light, a number of small retouchings are visible throughout the painting, in the wooden ceiling and far and right walls, in the centre in the floor and in the figure of the lady wearing white, and generally in the darks of the composition, mostly running horizontally along the wood grain. Inspection under ultraviolet light confirms these. In overall fair condition.
