The paper laid down on panel has a dirty paint surface and a shiny, discoloured varnish. There are some discoloured retouchings to small losses visible to the naked eye, scattered along the left-hand margin and upper right. Inspection under ultraviolet light is impeded by the varnish, which fluoresces opaquely, but there appears to be little other intervention, other than a possible line of repaint along the upper margin.
