Per questa splendida edizione, curata da Marcus Sadeler, l’autore utilizzò le tavole prodotte dallo zio Egidius, già pubblicate nella prima edizione del 1606: tutte le matrici (eccetto il frontespizio) sono state però preparate ex novo. Le tavole riproducono inoltre, in formato ridotto, quelle stampate nel 1575 dal celebre incisore francese Etienne Du Perac: sono state aggiunte ad esse alcune vedute di Tivoli e Pozzuoli. Il frontespizio riporta dunque sia la data e l’autore della prima stampa del 1606, sia quelli dell’effettiva nuova pubblicazione del 1660.
