The actual painting seems a bit less yellow than the catalogue illustration would suggest. With the naked eye The panel has been cradled, and probably consists of three planks joined horizontally (joins retouched). Some old retouched cracks are visible, running inwards from the right, one at ca. 5 cm. from the top, and one at ca. 12 cm. from the top, and a few smaller retouched cracks running inwards also from the right edge. Some paintlosses can be seen around the edges due to the (former?) framing. Some minor thinness in the deep background of the trees, otherwise most of the foliage, figures, and animals seem to be nicely preserved. Under UV light Retouchings to the joins can be seen as mentioned above, as well as strengthenings in the darker foreground, and some minor scattered throughout. Otherwise the varnish layer fluoresces. Offered with a veneer walnut frame, in good condition with some minor chips to the edges of the frame.
