The pendant-brooch set with an emerald-cut citrine within a surround of oval-shaped citrines, old European and single-cut diamonds, suspending a detachable gold ropetwist fringe terminating on four pear-shaped citrines, accented by old-European cut diamonds, necklace length 15 inches, the pendant and fringe both detachable, signed Cartier London; circa 1945.
Condition
In good condition, with minor surface wear to the gold mounting commensurate with age, the pin fitting slightly bent near the bridge. Signature located on bridge of pendant-brooch pin fitting. Clasp of necklace and top of pin fitting numbered 119882, numbering is worn and difficult to read on both. Mounting tests as 18 karat gold. The central emerald-cut citrine calculated to weigh approximately 27.00 carats; the pear-shaped approximately 17.00 carats; these are medium brownish orange, loop clean, with a few abrasions visible under 10x magnification. The remaining oval-cut citrines weighing a total of approximately 30.00 carats, these are medium yellowish orange, loop clean to slightly included. The diamonds, estimated to weigh approximately 1.00 carat, are approximately F-G color, VS clarity. The pendant may be worn as a brooch. Length of pendant with fringe approximately 5⅜ inch.
