Condition

Overall in very good condition. The leather is original and presents with deep forest green tones throughout; its surfaces with minor craquelure throughout, along with scattered surface scratches and nicks, not visually distracting and consistent with age and gentle handling. The front of the leather drum with two isolated abrasions located at the top edge, the larger measuring approximately 7/8 x 1/16 in. The brass tacks with some light rubbing, and the wooden base with a few minor nicks. The pierced-wood shade is original and executed by Russell Blood; its wood surfaces with very minor scattered scuffs and scratches mainly concentrated to the slanted edges, not visually distracting, and the metal elements with some oxidation, consistent with age and use. The waxed paper backing of the shade glows red when illuminated and is a light tan color when unilluminated. The glass finial with light surface scratches and minor particulate inclusions, inherent to the design. Traditionally executed with left-over leather strips from Molesworth's furniture division, this is a rare and original pairing which presents very well overall.
